Hazel products have been crafted in the Hampshire coppices for 150 years, and were once produced on a mass scale in the extensive coppices in this region for sheep farming, as they made strong yet moveable fencing. The area has retained extensive Hazel coppices as the Hazel re-grows and is ready for use again in 7 years, making it a renewable and environmentally friendly source. Hazel products are still produced today using traditional techniques for the home and garden market.

Hurdle fences make a beautiful alternative to panel fences and other partition materials. They have many uses and can be used to hide unsightly features, fill a gap in a hedge or simply as a decorative feature. They can be supplied in standard or custom size panels, and also made on site in a continuous weave which is particularly well suited to following curved or shaped contours such as ornamental flower borders or vegetable patches.

Hazel arches can be made to your dimensions and form a beautiful and practical arch for climbing plants to flourish. Gates can also be supplied to your dimensions with a quality hand made oak frame which is infilled with split Hazel.

Darren Cuff has been making Hazel products in the Hampshire coppices for 30 years, learning every aspect of hurdle making from a young age to ensure the highest quality using tradtional techniques.
